Vincenzo Postiglione Violins
Vincenzo Postiglione is considered a master amongst the new generation of Neapolitan makers. His work is filled with unmistakable Neapolitan character and distinct Gagliano influences. A leading maker of the 19th century, he started as an apprentice to Vincenzo Lorio before setting up his own shop in Naples in 1855, where he would make over 500 instruments.
Today, a Vincenzo Postiglione violin is highly regarded for its quality varnish and excellent craftsmanship. His instruments often have touches of Stradivari, Guadagnini and Gagliano influence, but always with a distinct Vincenzo Postiglione style. Many of his instruments are widely sought-after by musicians for their beautiful sound and high performance quality.
