Nicolas Maline Bows
Nicolas Maline (1822-1877) was born into a family of French luthiers, later becoming a highly important and celebrated bowmaker in his own right. He is thought to have started work in the Etienne Pajeot workshop for some time before he began making bows for J.B. Vuillaume around the time of 1840. Later in his career, he started to develop more of his own personal style, producing extremely well-crafted bows with distinctive features.
Nicolas Maline is remembered as a talented and important bowmaker in history. His bows are fine examples of 19th century French making and are widely sought-after by many.
