After taking an interest in violin making at the age of 31, Celeste Farotti moved to Milan to pursue his career as a luthier. He soon opened up his own independent workshop in 1990 where he became a successful restorer, dealer and maker and built an excellent reputation thanks to the fantastic sound and appearance of his instruments.
Most Celeste Farotti violins have distinct and unmistakable features that reflect his unique style, however he was also known for being an exceptional copyist. Farotti’s bench copies showed amazing skill thanks to his attention to detail with antiquing which made the finished result look very authentic.
