Annibale Fagnola violins
Annibale Fagnola was a great Italian maker of the 20th century. Born near Turin in 1865, he was a self-taught maker who set up his own workshop in 1899 and took a lot of inspiration from the Turin school. His earlier works tend to be beautiful copies of the likes of Guadagnini, Pressenda and Rocca but as he progressed, he began to project more of his own style in his making. He still maintained strong Pressenda influences however.
Annibale Fagnola’s reputation has remained flawless over the years and his work is seen as some of the finest examples of modern Italian craftmanship. He is known for taking great care in his work, with consistency across all his instruments and for producing violins with a beautifully deep and full sound.
