Celeste Farotti, 1864 d.1928
Farotti can be seen as the leading Piedmont 20th century maker. he moved to Milan in 1899 and seems to have completely continued his own path , not going into the Bisiach school! Although his copies are equal to any of the leading copyists of this period. This violin is his Strad model (as stated on the label) but its not really a copy of any Strad I know. It’s pure Farotti! Gindin certificate available.
Internally signed, one piece back. Fantastic sounding, rare violin. Fully certified (Gindin Certificate)
Recently set up…and now sounding at peak form!
“Farotti is one of my favourite makers, his violins always sound fantastic” Sean Bishop- Director
