Valentino De Zorzi Violins & Violas

Valentino De Zori is a self-taught Italian maker, who started his career as a carpenter. Born in Vittorio, Italy, he moved to Florence in 1885. It was in Florence where he completed most of his work as a maker and became greatly influential in the revival of violin making in Tuscany. Through his distinct style of making, De Zorzi initiated a re-emergence of many lost Tuscan traditions, and traits consistent with the Tuscan school of violin making. It is thought that this approach was later copied by other makers in this area in the late 19th century.

At Bishop Instruments & Bows, we regularly have instruments by talented and influential makers of the late 19th century, including Valentino De Zorzi violins, violas and cellos.
