Stefano Scarampella Violin
Stefano Scarampella is a prolific Italian violin and cello maker. He started out as a carpenter by trade and took up violin making later in life, around 1890. Known for his creative style and quality workmanship, it is thought that many of his instruments were influenced by Guarneri del Gesù, particularly earlier in his career.
The tonal quality of Scarampella’s instruments are often compared to the sound of a Guadagnini. Today, he is considered a highly regarded maker whose instruments are widely sought-after.
