A violin by George Wulme-Hudson, 1923

Price range: £12,000 - £25,000

Really fine G.W.Hudson violin. This example is closer to his straight, not antiqued examples but it is still modelled on G.B.Guadagnini. Easy to play and easy on the eye. This violin is a great example of his best work.

MAKER INFORMATION

George Wulme Hudson (1882-1952) became one of England’s most versatile and talented makers. Though his violin making career began late, Hudson became a quite prolific maker and produced over 800 instruments in his time. Hudson became known as one of the world’s finest copyists of the great Italian makers, Stradivari, Bergonzi, and Guarneri. His work can be equal to that of the famous Voller brothers.
