A violin by Enrico Politi, Rome 1930-40
Price range: £50,000+
Enrico Politi (1885-1979 was a very prolific violin maker from Rome and made instruments based on his own personal model and with a transparent orange-red varnish. Politi was a juror at several international meetings and competitions. He was also capable of very fine copies…
“Very fine and rare maker. This violin is a Guadagnini copy with a E.Degani label. I feel Politi probably put in the labels as during his time, older instruments made higher prices than new ones! (Not much has changed!). Really fine making in this instrument and with a tone to match” Sean Bishop, Director.
