Akop Azoyan was born in Krasnodar, Russia in 1988 into a musical family.
In 2009 he completed his studies in Classical Guitar Performance at Moscow Regional College of Arts.
Between 2009 and 2013 he attended the “Antonio Stradivari” International Violin Making School of Cremona, completing his studies in 2013. During these years he developed his skills in instrument construction under the guidance of Giorgio Scolari and Massimo Negroni, and instrument restoration with Alessandro Voltini and Claudio Amighetti. He graduated with honors and obtained the Diploma of Maestro Liutaio.
In 2015 – 2016 he was employed full time as an assistant to Francesco Toto, working on all aspects of hand-making violins, violas and cellos.
Nowadays he works in his own workshop in the historical center of Cremona on his own instruements inspired by the classical models of the Cremonese school.
