George Hulme Hudson (1862-1952) is a maker that can compete with the Vollers when it comes to Antique copies. In fact it is probably the fact that the Vollers worked at the same time as him that his work hasn’t been more well known!
A rare example of a Gragnani copy…the first I have seen from Hudson. A much loved violin by its previous owner, who upgraded recently. In mint condition, it’s a real treat for the eyes.

G.W.Hudson is a maker I really love. In fact I collected them for a few years and had about 10 before deciding it was time to stick to the day job and sell violins! This is a nice rare example. Maybe a one off.
