A violin by Giuseppe Pedrazzini, Milan c1930/40, Guadagnini model
Price range: £50,000+
Giuseppe Pedrazzini (1879-1957) moved to Milan in 1903 and would seem to be a self taught maker, although receiving some advice from Romeo Antoniazzi (very evident in his scroll work). A prolific maker, is is amongst the top rated 20th century makers and his work is highly sought after.
This is an interesting and rare Guadagnini model, with an early label but probably made circa 1940 (says Bruce Carlson). In mint condition this violin would make an excellent choice for any violinist.
